In an industry-wide effort to build the workforce of the future, Manufacturing Week touts the reality of modern manufacturing careers. By encouraging companies and schools to open their doors for tours and programs, the focused events empower communities and future generations.

In coordination with Manufacturing Week, Appalachian Ohio Manufacturers’ Coalition is implementing a series of events for high school students in a seven-county initiative.

“From auto manufacturing and food, to aerospace and biomedical, the depth and breadth of industries within manufacturing are immense,” said AOMC President Linn Yost. He further stated, “Parents and teachers are major influencers for students. Manufacturing Week aims to help educate these educators and influencers about expansive regional opportunities.”

AOMC is also conducting a survey of all regional high school students to gauge interest and current understanding of manufacturing careers.
