AOMC Welcomes Programming and Process Optimization Intern

Colleen McGuire

AOMC’s Manufacturing Support Center will host an intern with programming and process optimization experience. Colleen McGuire is a rising senior in the Industrial and Systems Engineering program at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Originally from the Washington D.C. area, she has studied process improvement, optimization, and data analysis. In addition to her engineering degree, Colleen is pursuing a minor in Computer Science and has an interest in software development.

At Ohio University, Colleen is currently part of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) and Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering Honor Society. She is also an Engineering Ambassador, one of a select few engineering students chosen to represent the college of engineering and interact with prospective students.

In the past, Colleen has worked with Ohio University faculty as a teaching assistant and undergraduate research assistant, giving her the opportunity to apply her data analysis and programming knowledge to projects outside of class. From these projects and more, Colleen has gained experience programming in Python, C++, Java, VBA, and SQL, as well as knowledge in Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Excel. She has a passion for programming and process optimization and is excited to bring her knowledge and skills to AOMC!
