Manufacturing Support Center hires interns
AOMC’s Manufacturing Support Center has hired two interns: Nick Sohn and Evan Adams. Both are pursuing a degree in Engineering Technology and Management (ETM) at Ohio University.
My name is Nick Sohn, and I am a fourth-year engineering student at Ohio University. I am currently pursuing a degree in Engineering Technology and Management (ETM) and a minor in Business Administration. The ETM program has been a perfect fit for me as the coursework has provided me with a wide range of hands-on engineering experiences that have helped me develop a variety of skills. As part of my studies, I am also working towards obtaining certificates in Lean Enterprise Methods and Enterprise Project Management.
During my time in the ETM program, I have gained valuable experience with various software tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and C#. I have also completed specialized coursework in areas such as plastics, production metal machining, metal fabrication and casting, assembly, PLC wiring/coding, and hydraulics.
Outside of my academic pursuits, I grew up in Northern Virginia and enjoy spending my free time fishing, weightlifting, and exploring the great outdoors.
I was born and raised in Athens Ohio and when I graduated from Athens High School, I knew I wanted to pursue a degree in Engineering. I chose ETM at Ohio University because with ETM you get experience with so many different types of engineering fields. I’ve been able to work with metal machining tools, code PLC’s and micro-controllers, and model with Solidworks. On top of that ETM teaches you to manage a project from start to finish giving you the business side perspective to engineering.
I have gotten practice with software languages such as C, C#, C++, Arduino, Codesys, and Click.
When I’m not doing school, I like to play video games, tinker with my 3D printer, and hangout with my friends.
